Dr. Mary Lou Dodd, D.Min. – Spiritual Care Counselor
Dr. Dodd completed her undergraduate work at Tyndale Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX and her Doctor of Ministries at Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, LA. She has over 20 years of counseling experience, most recently practicing in South Florida for the last 10 years.
Dr. Dodd has collaborated with the Hansa doctors and staff to develop the standard of care and counseling that she provides. Although she has extensive training in biblical studies and Christian counseling, her unique approach and style is based on scientific and spiritual truths that are easily applicable to people of all faiths. Her primary goal is to help you navigate through the emotions and mindset of chronic illness to move forward in your healing process while at the Hansa Center, and indeed throughout the rest of your life.
Dr. Dodd brings a wealth of personal experience and knowledge in the field of healthcare counseling, as she spent several decades as a caregiver to an acute and chronically ill child, who was sick from birth through adulthood before being dramatically improved through treatment by the doctors at the Hansa Center. Dr. Dodd also went through a period of chronic illness herself, where she developed her own tools and techniques that enabled her to recover and help others.
She has firsthand knowledge of the potentially traumatic path that a person could experience navigating multiple doctors in conventional medicine and family members who do not understand the illness or the decision to pursue natural healthcare.
Dr. Dodd not only understands the emotional challenges of being a patient, but also that of being the caregiver. Caregivers are at times overlooked, as all the attention is often placed on the individual who is sick. With that in mind, Dr. Dodd’s services include counseling for both patients and caregivers.
Dr. Dodd is married and has two grown children. She was born outside of Toronto, Ontario and now resides in Wichita, Kansas.
